Research shows that being in nature reduces aggression, fear, and stress. It contributes to your physical wellbeing as well, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormone. Staring at the ocean actually changes our brain waves’ frequency and puts us into a mild meditative state. Exposure to forests boosts our immune system. Nature is like your multi-vitamin so lately, I’ve been using nature as a means of therapy and I really recommend you guys to do the same. Visit your local park or closest beach if you live in urban areas.
I took a stroll through the Ascot Hills park trail in the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood of Los Angeles just to decompress after work. It has such dreamy soft slope hills and is a beautiful place to relax or traverse all the hiking trails and routes. It’s always hot in LA, so the high hilltops get a very welcome breeze to help cool you down.
Take advantage of the time you spend with nature by practicing mindfulness.
