Grey Scale

Some of you readers may have been noticing my transition to a neutral wardrobe as of late and one color I’ve been obsessing over in particular is the shade grey.

I’m slowly weeding out florals and patterns and turning more towards solids and basics. A year ago, I would love to experiment with various patterns but I came to find that these pieces don’t stand the test of time and could never last after one season for me.

Styling for basics and solids really force you to pay attention to the little details of things to make what you’re wearing just that tad bit more special. As the saying goes “it’s the little things in life” is particularly true when you have a wardrobe filled with solids and basics.

Although certain dark shades of grey may appear dull and don’t flatter any skin tone for that matter, I gravitate towards lighter shades of grey because I think they do a great job at brightening my skin. Paired with accents of white, the brightening effect is further enhanced. What I like about light grey is that it’s a great neutral tone that suits either warm or cool undertones. It’s a color that’s a win for all to give you that clean, minimal look.
