The summer heat wave in LA has been making me prefer light, refreshing snacks and food so the other day I made myself a Lemony Hearts of Palm Salad. I’ve actually never tried Hearts of Palm before so it was delightful to try something new.
The ingredients for my salad was very minimal so it’s a quick, delicious salad to enjoy for the summer time. First, I soaked some sliced onion in cold water for 5 minutes and drained. Then, I tossed 1 cup of sliced hearts of palm and some chopped parsley. I added 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and olive oil then, seasoned the salad with salt and pepper.
A can of Hearts of Palm has merely 45 calories so when served with a salad, it’s great for low caloric intake if you’re looking to lose weight or to just lead a healthy lifestyle.
