I’ve known about microdermabrasion for quite awhile now, but never actually got the procedure done at a dermatologist office before. I was initially interested to try it out since a friend told me that it did wonders for her skin and helped clear up her acne and acne scars.
I was a bit weary to take the plunge and get it done professionally since it is pretty costly, ranging from $100 – $200 per treatment. Fortunately, I received PMD personal microderm, which lets me try microdermabrasion in the comforts of my own home.
You start off with a cleansed face. Then, glide the PMD in an upward fluid motion across the skin. After the treatment, you apply a calming toner and recovery moisturizer and then, you’re done! The steps are extremely easy and you use this device once a week.
The product claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, age spots, enlarged pores, and even skin tone and texture. Sounds like a miracle product right? In my case, I primarily wanted to clear up any blemishes I had and even out my overall skin texture.
I would say that I have mild acne. Generally, the type of acne that I get is not very red and inflamed. I have acne that consists of slightly raised bumps and since my skin doesn’t regenerate as quickly as it did during my teens, I feel like any hyperpigmentation I get takes a lot longer to heal.
After using PMD two times, I definitely have noticed an improvement with my skin texture. My skin feels extremely soft and looks a lot smoother after each usage and it’s something I look forward to using every week. I haven’t noticed my acne scars immediately clearing, but the overall health of my skin looks and feels a lot better and I think with continued usage, it will help keep my acne flare ups at bay.
