I’ve mentioned in a couple of my previous blog posts that I’ve been struggling with mild adult acne in the past year. Light therapy has helped my skin immensely at controlling my breakouts, but the treatment only targets the surface level since it doesn’t penetrate deep into the dermis.
Thus, I’ve been looking for alternative treatments to manage my acne and improve the texture and hyperpigmentation of my acne scars. Trophy Skin was kind enough to send me their Microdermabrasion Home System for me to try out.
I have extremely sensitive skin so I’ve always been weary to try microdermabrasion, but I thought an at-home kit would be much less invasive on the skin so I was willing to give it a go. It takes just 5 minutes per treatment and can be used on the face and body. I’ve been using this Microdermabrasion kit for 4 weeks now and have seen really great results with it.
The Microdermabrasion Home System comes with:
– Microderm MD Device
– Pore Extraction Tip
– 100 Pack Filters
– Tip Cleaner
– Medium Diamond Tip
– Infusion Tip
– Power Adapter
– User Manual
The way that I use the Microdermabrasion Home System is in Auto mode, which guides me through the treatment process for the entire face and neck in just 5 minutes. Each zone of the face will have a pre-set section power level and timer. Once a particular zone is finished, the Auto mode will switch to the next zone. I apply the diamond tip to the face and feel the suction power pulling on the face. I glide the diamond tip quickly throughout my face so that I don’t apply too much pressure in any given spot. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and the treatments felt pretty painless for me. My face was slightly red after the treatment, but that faded within a couple of hours.
Then, I apply Argan Stem Cell Serum that contains anti-aging peptides and soothing anti-inflammatory ingredients. The serum is immediately absorbed into my skin because the exfoliation from the microdermabrasion increases the absorption of skincare products.
You also have the option to set the Microdermabrasion Home System to Manual mode if you’d like, but I enjoy using it in Auto mode since it’s guided so it’s just really simple and easy to use.
I’ve been using the Microdermabrasion kit once a week and I’m definitely noticing improvements with my overall skin texture. My acne scars are fading and my skin looks so smooth like how it was during my teens!
