If you watch my Instagram stories, you may have noticed that I was in Sonoma Valley a couple weeks ago for a weekend getaway with my Instagram Bestie Rachel (whose blog post you can read here). Despite the recent fires that occurred in Sonoma Valley, there was an abundance of trees and crops and a vast scenic beauty.

Sonoma Valley is home to more than 100 premium wineries, many of which are family-owned and they have award-winning olive oil producers and breweries. It is an ideal, year-round destination and offers a delicious vacation to visitors. The restaurants here offered dining from their bountiful gardens, Tuscan country cooking, and hand-crafted bites for any taste.

I landed on a Friday afternoon and checked into Cottage Inn & Spa, and got settled into my adorable suite with a fireplace. The bathroom of my suite had gorgeous blue tiles and was so Instagram-worthy. The inn also provided freshly-baked bread in a basket to your door every morning for breakfast.

The following day was when the wine tasting adventure began. We started with the first wine tasting location, Kunde Family Winery, which was located in the beautiful mountains, allowing me to get a gorgeous view of Sonoma Valley. Following Kunde Family Winery, we stopped by Chateau St. Jean, which was my favorite location during my visit since it was my first time seeing a chateau and the architecture along with the garden were all so quaint. For lunch, we dined at Valley of the Moon Winery at Madrone Estate and everything from the appetizers to the desserts were so fresh and tasty. Afterwards, we grabbed a glass of bubbly champagne at SIGH.

The 5th Annual Lighting of the Historic Sonoma Plaza took place that weekend and we enjoyed 8 acres of 100,000+ sparkling lights, music, performances, and holiday treats that evening. It really got me into the holiday spirits and you really could feel how close-knit all the town members were with one another in celebration of this event. After the event, we grabbed dinner at the girl & the fig, where I really enjoyed the Duck Liver Mousse and had the tastiest lavender creme brulee.
On Sunday, I spent the rest of my day photographing and exploring the rest of Sonoma Valley before I checked into Ledson Hotel. Sonoma Valley is definitely a small town so I was able to easily get by with just Ubering and walking.
Although Sonoma County faced trials during the wildfires that took place in October, firefighters and volunteers fought tirelessly to keep Sonoma Valley safe from the flames so that none of the region’s stunning wineries, hotels, and restaurants were destroyed. If you’re planning a weekend getaway, I highly recommend visiting Sonoma Valley, especially now that Fall is in full force and there’s a ton of foliage to witness.

Oh this post makes me want to visit the west coast again. I lived in Seattle for 12 years and popped down to San Francisco right before I moved back to NY. LOVE your photos!!
